Georgie Winston all his instrumental piano albums on Windham Hill, Laurie Anderson was a perfomrance artist but had a 5 album box set that I use to really dig. Phillip Glass a contemporary classic composer from Baltimore has several albums, he goes in the repetitive sound with other instruments overlaid. My favorite of his is the Photographer, especially Act II which has some nice violin work.
