During Thursday's Weather Club meeting, Dan Brown gave a presentation called "Why Airplanes Fly Into Hurricanes (or A Great Bucket-List Adventure)." Dan is a former U.S. Air Force ARWO (Aerial Reconnaissance Weather Officer), who flew 50 missions into the eyes of Atlantic hurricanes and Pacific typhoons. He was part of a 5 member team that few WC-130 aircraft into these storms to obtain critical weather information to help the National Hurricane Center's forecast operations. Dan captured audience attention while describing fascinating personal experiences, and finished his talk by answering numerous questions. There were 35 in attendance.
