If that does not happen, I believe that this pandemic will spiral out of control and our hospitals will be overwhelmed. That was the worry back in mid March when we had to close down the country for six weeks, which was very detrimental to our economy. We don’t want to have to do that again.

Very well written. Kudos! I have written several times about the 90-95% mask-wearing principle to bring the CV down to a controllable level. But, your writing is clearer. And I agree - your warning about not wearing masks causing the hospitals to become overwhelmed IS already happening in the Dakota states area. I COULD(?) happen here in The Villages. Yesterday there was a spike in cases upward to 157 in The Villages. AS the thread suggests The Villages should resist the unscientific DICTATE of our Governor and start our own self-imposed mask mandate. It is time for older people to show wisdom and warmth for their fellow humans. Greed for "NORMALCY" and politics have been PROVEN to NOT bring life-saving RESULTS. We need to start our own "grass roots" mask-wearing movement!
