And many like to quote the 99% survival rate as a reason we shouldn't worry about the virus and take necessary precautions. The 99% survival rate is for the general population. When the survival rate is broken down by age groups, the statistics tell a different story than lumping all cases together. Statistics can be easily manipulated to lead to the outcome one wants to get. Or they can be carefully examined and used correctly to get a much more significant conclusion.
