In just the last week I have learned of three deaths; one a teacher and former student of mine; one a former college classmate and friendly competitor when we both coached high school basketball in the same conference; and another a long time family friend. I don’t know if my experience is common, but I am certain it is not unique. I am happy we are beginning the vaccine process, but until immunity is pretty universal, I implore everyone to be careful and vigilant. I do not want to add a TOTV friend to my list.
Great post, thank you. I personally know 3 who have died from the virus, including our next door neighbor in the Villages. I also know several younger people who have contracted the virus, some with minor ailments and others who suffered through severe sickness and ongoing concerns of having to live the rest of their lives with nasty side effects. Please stay safe until the vaccine hopefully makes it safe again for people our age group.
