The numbers don't lie, people lie about the numbers. People pull numbers out of their nether regions when they are trying to make a point rather than actually looking for documented statistics.
In the US the of flu deaths per year is in the neighborhood of 30,000. The 2019-2020 flu season saw about 22,000 US deaths according to the CDC. I am still looking for 2020-2021 numbers but those are hard to find since we are just starting into that season. I suspect your "almost 0" number is due to incomplete data gathering.
