Default Trane Usually Pretty Good
I had a Trane furnace completely replaced a few years ago at our home near Chicago when it was discovered that the heat exchanger was cracked. The furnace was about seven years old and well out of the normal warranty period. My installation dealer leaned on Trane a bit and they authorized the installation of a new furnace. As I recall, I paid the installation charge of a couple hundred bucks, but they provided a brand new furnace.
