We looked at retirement communities in Tennessee, Virginia, North and South Carolina before coming to the villages. I didn't really want to live this far south and actually only visited to shut up friends, snowbirds here, who kept insisting we visit. Nothing even comes close. Houses cost more here per square foot but the lifestyle more than makes up for it.
