Talented musicians in The Villages
They say that "necessity is the mother of invention", which I guess is why so many talented Villagers began performing driveway concerts this year. These were great gifts to friends and neighbors, as well as a way to keep their skills sharp during this difficult period. After attending several of these driveway concerts, I was impressed by the quality of the music, and particularly the song writing skills of those that performed original material. As we look forward to the a more normal future (whatever that means), wouldn't it be great if The Villages radio stations would create a weekly show that showcases the musical talents of Villagers, conducting interviews to learn the backstory of our neighbors as well as playing a few of their songs. Phone-in interviews would be appropriate for now, and emailing in recordings of their original works that could be played during the show. Would anyone else like to hear more of our neighbor's work and learn their musical story?
