I work on Sundays so I don't read the paper until Monday morning hence my reaction to this in "yesterdays" paper.
In the local section I think it was, was a picture of people seated in a church at a wedding. In the very near background was some guy wearing a straw hat!!!! And wearing something that looks like he came from a luai (sp?)
I can't believe it. I grew with etiquette whereby a gentleman always removes his hat when entering a building ESPECIALLY a chuch. And always, ALWAYs wears a suit to a wedding unless it is deemed very informal (like a cowboy wedding, etc where you are expected to wear bluejeans, etc. As that is the theme.
And to make matters worse, apparently no one at the entire wedding took cause to remind this fellow (I won't use the word "gentleman")
as to etiquette and a dress code! This was no kid either. He was very much old enough to know better and dress accordingly.
What has happened to our generation? I thought we were supposed to be role models for younger people in how to act, dress and talk? Geeeeeeeez!
