In just the last week I have learned of three deaths; one a teacher and former student of mine; one a former college classmate and friendly competitor when we both coached high school basketball in the same conference; and another a long time family friend. I don’t know if my experience is common, but I am certain it is not unique. I am happy we are beginning the vaccine process, but until immunity is pretty universal, I implore everyone to be careful and vigilant. I do not want to add a TOTV friend to my list.

Personally lost one friend in another state. Only 74 but not in good health at all, she was in a rehab facility as her Parkinson's had become very bad. The virus went through the rehab facility in Illinois quite rapidly killing many who were in weakened conditions. Otherwise, I have 5 close personal friends between 54 and 91 who have had it, all in excellent health and none overweight, who have had the virus but with very slight symptoms. Four of them live in Illinois, one lives in southeast Florida. All are fine.
