I would like to comment on yesterdays thread about worries with a speedy vaccine. The first major reason the 2 are out so fast is it is totally new technology with the messenger ribonucleic acid versus chicken embryos. Much faster, and possibly safer. However still had to go through test populations for side effects and efficacy.

Another major reason is that scientists around the world have been working on the development of RNA vaccines since the SARS outbreak in 2003. The COVID-19 vaccine is just the culmination of many years of scientific endeavour.
