Meanwhile, my sister might end up intubated, and I'm horrified. This doesn't just affect the person sick. It affects their family, friends, pets, landlords, customers, bosses, every single person and creature their life interacts with is affected.

And yes, I plan on getting the vaccine. It won't be my "turn" for awhile, and I'm okay with that because I'm not at risk. But I'll get it once that window of eligibility opens.
There is a very/VERY low risk of me incurring a "very gruesome, very lonely and isolated death" and if almost everyone is getting the vaccination, how would I be spreading it to everyone I come into contact with? I did NOT say that I was not going to get the vaccination, only that I think that I preferred to catch it and become immune to it naturally, than to find out after I received the vaccination that I was already immune to it. I guess that I should elaborate for those that find it difficult to comprehend my posts. I have been accused of making them way too long as it is. Now you know why.
By the way, the deaths from COVID in Florida as of 24 Dec is 99 per 100,000, which equals about .099 of 1% if I got the zeros correct.
I believe I did say that I believe the virus is serious. I also believe that this new vaccine is a scientific miracle. Don't let panic and hysteria rule your lives.
