This is the system I have had installed for 2 years now. I did my research, and the filters in this system filter to lower microns than the Nova system. I installed myself in about 4 hours with a bypass.
I find the water in our area to be pretty good, but with the whole house filter, the water is excellent for drinking - better than many of the bottled waters I have tried. I am a home brewer, so a good water supply is crucial for good beer!
I added an electronic water conditioner as well (the Scale Blaster). It doesn't remove calcium, but makes the calcium clump up into larger particles. You don't notice the particles in the water, but it doesn't stick to the fixtures like it used to! Calcium is not bad for you - it just tends to leave tough to clean stains on all your fixtures.
