I guess you didn't watch the live streaming from cell phones and cameras of people who were actually there. Some of the offices were desecrated. The windows were smashed. Five people died. One person "inside" helped to make sure the terrorists knew exactly where to find one of their targets by tweeting that person's movements.

These videos weren't just reporters. So don't bother with the "fake news" nonsense, if that's where you think to go next. They were people who were doing the attacking, bragging about it on their own cell phones and streaming live on various social media.

As for the OP - we need to remember that there is very little that happens anywhere in Washington DC that doesn't have a camera aimed at it. There are cameras everywhere - not just in government buildings, but in the local 7-11 (or facsimile thereof), the library, the parking lots, hotels. Every computer is monitored - including the one in your personally owned luxury townhouse in Georgetown.

You think Santa is the only one who sees you when you're sleeping? Try living in DC. They see EVERYTHING. They can ID everyone, and they can track anyone.

Whether they are able to act on everything is another matter entirely - but don't think for a moment that they don't know who did what and for what reason. They know.
