I haven't seen it yet, probably will see it. I think the trailer doesn't do it justice, from what I've heard from people who have actually seen it.
Basically - the concept is that yes, TV really is an awesome place to live, for most people. And while they show you how awesome it is, to most people, they will show you the stories of a very few people who it is NOT awesome for, and why it isn't awesome for them.
As you said - it wouldn't be all that interesting if it was just featuring awesomeness. It'd just be a travelogue or an epically long commercial, if it didn't show the shadier side.
