I was the same way. I had my Yamaha set to go 25 mph for about five years, and I saw a cop with a radar gun on Bailey's Trail sitting back by the pump station by hole #1 at Allamanda. He was shooting down the cart path, luckily I wasn't speeding. I figured, it's not worth it to get to the course five minutes quicker, and if you have an accident what about your insurance. I dialed the cart back about 3 years ago and it doesn't seem to take any longer to get there.
I did have a Yamaha pass me unlike any I've ever seen on O'Dell while I was en route to Havana about 3 months ago. His wheels stuck out beyond the body about 3" and he was going about 35 mph. He was in the cart lane and the car lane both. When he passed I looked for a tag and he had no tag. Even a street legal is not allowed to go that fast. His engine was very loud, he went by so quick I couldn't get a good look at the cart or the driver.
