I don't know why the men were dressed inappropriately or wearing hats indoors, but I'd like to think they had a good reason. Give me a choice between having a beloved friend join in my celebration or not because clothes were lost by an airline, I'd much rather my friend come in whatever was available. If my friend were to be embarassed because of ecsema or surgery on the pate, keep that hat on my friend. If your religion requires a head covering and you don't want to advertise your specific religion, please keep your hat on if it makes you feel comfortable. Far better that you not be embarassed than I worry about a bit of missing ettiquette.

The point is we don't know the facts. These men may have had good reasons for dressing as they did and maybe were uncomfortable but felt the alternative (not being to come at all or being totally embarassed) was far better. If they knew no better than to come dressed casually or keep their hats on, I'd forgive them as easily. To me and, hopefully to Ms. Lopez and her family, having them celebrate the wedding would be far more important.

As to those who don't properly acknowledge the flag and anthem, no comment. Just keep me away from athletes who can't keep still during the singing of the anthem. I truly would like to rip them a new one.
