NH Forestry Office sent me a roll of red/silver mylar ribbon and said to secure above the area, then do several twists and then secure below the siding when the pecker was creating all sorts of damage in cedar siding. The ribbon twists in the wind. Never saw the bird again. Took down after a couple weeks and resided that area of house 8
