Will a mini split handle both a/c and heating?
My lanai is enclosed and I installed the split unit myself. It is also a heat-pump and is warming the area well on these cold nights. It is a sealed unit and very easy to install. The only difficult part IF you are not electrical literate is to provide an outside power source. I installed a 110vac unit instead of a 220vac unit so it was pretty easy. Mine has enough power to cool the living room and had to when my central unit was down before I replaced it during one hot summer. There are a couple brands that come sealed so that you don't have to use an A/C guy. One is made by "Mr.Cool." I saved a couple grand doing it myself, but you have to be handy. Relatives spent 3-4K for installation.
