There was Larry the 13' alligator who to hang out at Brownwood Square.

Back in 2011 when I just moved into my new CYV in Tamarind Grove, a neighbor on Odessa Circle saw an alligator going down his street from Southern Star Executive, and another neighbor much closer in a CYV found a rattlesnake in his garage, yes a rattlesnake. Besides those, you have huge roaches called Palmetto bugs, so it's one more layer of protection from inside the home.
Since we are in the garage quite often with our washer & dryer and I have a work bench, it makes the area cleaner and safer. Three weeks after the neighbor found the snake, I called All Around Aluminum in Oxford and had the horizontal screens put on my 12' door for $850. Two other neighbors had used them first.
Although property crime is very low in TV, there was time about five years ago when there was a lot thief while the southern area below 466A was being developed. Adding the cameras to the gates made a big difference when they started catching the thieves. With screens that are locked, if you find any 2 legged animals in your garge you know it's not by accident that they wandered into your home. There was a home invasion in LaBelle not long after it was built and the pet dog was killed, and I don't believe those thugs were ever captured. You can always be safer.

Now my screens are almost ten years old and still doing the job, and when it's closed it gives the home a cleaner look.
