It must be some random operation, because surely being on there that early would have put me in a good place on line. Next week, I will set it up the day before and leave it running to see if I get an invite to register.
I am not concerned greatly about getting one for myself, but I do want to get my wife vaccinated so she can feel safe about leaving the house. It would be nice to get her's before they lower the age requirement to the younger folks. Competition for the shot will once again be pretty heavy then.
A lot of this is totally chance. As soon as someone mentions a site set up, they are out of serum and closed again before you can check it out. Eventually, everyone will be able to get the vaccination but at the rate things are going right now, being limited to production, it may be next year by the time everyone gets theirs, and then it will start over again. They do not yet know if this immunity will last any longer than the seasonal flu shot.
One thing we do have going for us in Florida is exposure to sunlight. They say the best medicine for this illness is sunshine. And we have plenty of that, here. I've seen many of my neighbors sitting out in their driveways, in the sun.
I don't think it helps to go on the site before it goes "live" at 6 am. And, even then, I don't think the site gives priority treatment to people who are logged on at 6 am vs those who logged on at a later time. Although, the longer you are logged on while appointments are available, the better chance you have to get an appointment. Good luck.
