If you're in the mood for an all-day journey (to and from) you need to take in the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola. An absolutely fabulous display of weaponry, actual combat films, replicas of businesses and homes that existed in the U.S. during WWII, and other things too numerous to mention. Here's the web link - but before you go, you might want to call first and see if there are any restrictions on touring the museum due to the current Covid crisis.

My Dad was in the Navy during WWII, and his ship - the USS Manila Bay - was struck by a Japanese kamikaze and sustained heavy damage. I observed a model of a WWII aircraft carrier displayed on the museum wall and mentioned to the guide about my Dad's ship, also an aircraft carrier. He took me back to the archives, and they brought up a picture of the Manila Bay, as it sat in the water on fire. There it was, my dad's ship and he was somewhere in that picture. Wow!
