I would start with the telephone book, looking under lawyers specializing in elder care, and start making calls you want to avoid having a fiduciary assigned to you or your wife, there have been some horror stories in the news about this. From your request it appears you are looking for someone to pay bills etc., NOT make decisions regarding end of life, so IMHO there is limited liability. You should be able to find a firm willing to do this.
