When someone sees something successful and people enjoying themselves on a daily basis, they want to poke holes in it, usually because their own lives are not as contented. I've lived all over the world in 12 more years of civil service followed by 30 years of active military service and I've never been happier any where (now being retired may contribute to that  ). I got a text last night from a former co-worker that just said "You guys are famous again" with a link to The Daily Beast article on the recent film.

Jealousy is a negative term. People have a need to defend their choices. Our former neighbors a a bit under the snow right now. Tempted as it is I do not send them e-mails that it is about 70 degrees today.
Far as e-mails,"You guys are famous again," many most people do not realize when you send an e-mail, you make a lot of false assumptions. You do not know what else is going on for the person who opens the e-mail. They do not see your face as the words are delivered. You cannot sort of spin back if it is not read in the spirit it is sent.
I do not have many friends. My definition of a friend is someone who can tell you that you are being a fool and you are not offended but you reaction is I did not realize that.
A friend would tell you privately.
