The reason why 60% disappears in the last 10% of the time is because your meter is measuring voltage. The voltage fall off is not linear. It is different for battery type-lead acid vs lithium. Lithium is fairly flat but drops like a rock at the end. Lead acid is more gradual but still not linear. In any case you will get far more length of service if you do not run them down.
