I've personally found that paying 7%-9% to be able to dump coffee cans full of change into a large public hopper, is well worth it compared to the time and labor of counting out change and then stuffing them into coin sleeves. Then again, I haven't heard of a bank that will accept a lot of loose change and then run it through their own change counters for free.
