The late Cat absolutely adored the lanai, because he was outdoors but he was also safe. Shortly after we moved here, he was enjoying a siesta when four sandhill cranes flew over, barely above the roof tops. The Cat immediately disappeared into the house, and stayed there for some little while! He didn't like those huge birds!
You may want to build that grass-floored birdcage for your kitties. AND, you may want to get some of the screening that looks like scenery (from the inside) so as to hide the fact that your
2 cats (times 3) can't be seen!
