I have not noticed as much hatred on TOTV as you have. Maybe it's because living here in the rim of DC we get this sort of thing on TV all the time.

Your suggestion to read Margeret Chase Smith's "Declaration of Conscience" is a good one, and there is a good study guide that pops up when you Google. The analogy to the era of Mccarthyism is imperfect, but there are a lot of similarities between the persecution of people accused of being communists and those today accused of being White Supremecists. Both have rich backers and compliant media.

I don't read TOTV for the politics. I read it to get info on how life is down there where it is warm (most of the time) and we will have a lot to do. In that it has been quite useful, even though a lot of the activities we look for seem to be dormant until the panic dies away.

My two cents worth. Now back to clearing out a house we have lived in for 36 years.
Well get back to the cleaning and we'll see you soon. Covid and fear have not changed the basic personalities of all those here, but yes, as the population has exploded, there have been a lot of "personalities" who (seem ?) to have found importance through condemning, shaming, judging, and "re-educating" others; in short I guess, like the D.C. atmosphere you noted, LOL ! Overall, its a nice place to live, while it's not what it once was (America's friendliest home town, that a bit of a stretch here these days) but over all, good weather most of the time, no unreasonable restrictions (though yes, activities still not back to "normal" but we have far far more we are allowed to do than in some of the states you see on the news with no schools, no church services, no eating in restaurants, etc. You might want to try to get your vaccinations before you move, it's still a bit difficult here is my only tip. Yes on the era of McCarthy witch hunts and the money/power brokers who drive things.
