There have been several previous posts regarding this and links to both the Florida Dept. of Transport Guide:
http://www.dot.state.fl.us/trafficop...Roundabout.pdf
and the Sumter County Guide:
http://www.districtgov.org/images/Wh...INAL070908.pdf
Both these guides concur with the rules posted in The Villages phonebook and indeed with Nationally and Globally accepted standards for navigating Roundabouts and Traffic Circles.
So far my searches online have produced no results for changes in these rules when navigating "smaller" roundabouts or more specifically "The Villages" roundabouts. I would be interested in knowing which local authority decreed that these rules do not apply to our roundabouts due to their size.
There are of course some roundabouts across the country where different rules do apply but these exceptions to the rule have pavement markings and or roadside signs so as not to cause confusion.
IMHO Follow Dept. of Transport guidelines unless you have absolute proof that they do not apply!
