OP if you are planning on a pool anyways you might consider a spillover spa. Spillover spas are in ground and part of (immediately next to) the pool.

Like any spa you lose the bathing Angle. Unlike a standalone spa you (potentially) gain gas and/or solar water heating. I have been in the spa when the air temp is 45, it is quite enjoyable, taking in the pool view while relaxing.
