It will be very interesting to see how this golf cart path thingy works out.
I remember when Freedom Pointe was first proposed, and they were advertising that residents had full TV amenities, what a hoo-haa that raised. As it turns out, residents of Freedom Pointe will have full access (including golf cart) to all TV facilities - they were "sold" to them. And they are "officially" not a part of TV!
The next big concern was "If they can sell access to our amenities to Freedom Pointe, who else can they sell it to?" When will they announce that all residents of Parkwood can have access to all TV facilities? How about Recreation Plantation? Bend over and hold on tight to the south side of your north bound mule because you know it's coming - sooner or later.
As far as Rolling Acres Road being a "stop" for the golf cart path going south (or is that east?), that is true today. At 27/441, TV access via golf cart south of Target/Circuit City/etc (I forget the name of the shopping center) is blocked by Rolling Acres Road. The Lady Lake Police to patrol and ticket golf carts that cross Rolling Acres Road on a fairly regular basis.
This is not the "know all - end all" though. Exceptions can be applied for and made. Already golf cart exceptions are in place within TV that allow golf carts to cross roads similar to Rolling Acres Road. For example, crossing El Camino Real at the traffic light at Botello (Village of Alhambra)/Enrique (Village of Santiago) is allowed. As far as I know there are no approved "exceptions" for golf carts to cross 27/441 (yet!).
It is interesting that all the "approved exceptions" that I know of are at places where you can cross a busy street (such as El Camino Real) from one developer developed property to another developer developed property. However I know of no approved exceptions where you go from a developer developed property (i.e. TV) to a non-developer developed property such as to the Home Depot/Sams complex or the complex where the Longhorn Steak House/Bed, Bath & Beyond is located.
Someone has some political pull to get those exceptions they want approved and those they don't want disapproved! But that probably will not last forever.
