Everytime I hear someone say this or I read it, I could bite. There is no one in "Big Pharma" which by the way is the business and industry that researches and manufactures medicines to help us stay well and get well, there is no person who works in the large pharmaceutical companies that do not have someone or someones who have had cancer and someone who has died from cancer, among the people they care about or in their families. The stuff that Oncologist's prescribe for cancer are not on a long, long, list. They are the chemo's that kill cells and cancer at the same time, and just about kill you. ASK ME WHY I KNOW. There are anti-nausea drugs and steroids, but certainly not a huge list of "medicines" that are the center of their business. The highest selling drugs are Statins and they are worth their weight in gold. They have greatly reduced death by heart disease since they were introduced.
In my opinion what you said IS A DUMB CONSPIRACY THEORY......based on the real fact that Pharmacy manufacturers do charge very high prices. BUT they have the gold. And we need the gold. Wish I knew how to fix this so prices are more affordable, but people who work in this industry ARE NOT EVIL. AND they are not keeping the cures for the dozens of diseases all listed under the heading of cancer. Some do have prevention now. Pre-adolescents can be vaccinated against the virus that causes Cervical and ovarian cancer. Hodgkin's Lymphoma has some life saving treatments. Breast Cancer Survivors are increasing. Cancer is a number of different diseases and I believe how to stop them rests in Genetic Research. Your children will live to see them vanquished and we can than thank the people who have invested so much money in research.
