I recently bought a cart. My loner did approx. 19mph. Yes, everyone would pass me, even my friend whom I would follow to a golf course would loose me. They would tell me, that when my new one comes in have them turn up the speed a little, they might have you sign something. When my new one came in it went about the same as the loner. I had to bring it in the following week for some things to be added that had not previously been installed. I asked if the speed could be turned up, they told me yes, but 24.5 was the max. I got the impression that there was something about not hitting 25mph. I typically cruise at about 20-22, but is nice to know that when your lagging in traffic you can pick it up a little. People will travel at what they are comfortable, just like a car, but you better know the consequences. Everybody has gone too fast at some point in their life. Even here in TV, a 20mph cart going down hill will do 24-25mph. I did not have to sign anything. What I'm more concerned with is people not cancelling their directionals, now this is an accident waiting for a place to happen. I got self canceling directionals on my cart. The best safety feature you could spend money on. I would strongly urge everyone to get these. I think they were about $250. Just think, going down a ramp, not knowing your right direction is on, but you are going straight thru. Someone coming out of the tunnel thinks you are turning right and pulls out. Ouch!
