All that being said, their are loads of unregistered motor vehicles in The Villages. Most are gas carts with their governors altered. There are some "street legal" electric carts around, which are licensed and insured with added equipment. My cart can not go faster than 20mph, but I constantly get passed by idiots that come up to my bumper from nowhere and pass me going 2 or 3 mph faster.

You are absolutely correct AND if you are in an accident and they check that your governor has been adjusted to over 20 mph, you can be sued BIG TIME. I don't know why some people have to go so fast on a golf cart. You are supposed to be retired - what the heck is your hurry?
I've been in my car driving the 25 mph speed limit and then passed by a golf cart doing almost 30 mph. That's ridiculous!!!!!!
