There are 1000's of couples living in The Villages with a paid-off house, no debt, tons of money in the bank, free paid medical insurance and as long as their gross adjusted yearly income is under $150,000, the couple will receive $2,800 in free US tax dollars. This is on top of the two prior stimulus checks they have received in the past six months.

I honestly believe those folks who need the money should be helped, but this stimulus money was not meant for people who didn't need it and for those people living in The Villages that meet this criteria and don't need the stimulus money are just scamming the rest of us.
I was thinking exactly the opposite: that the many hard working people who consistently passed up luxury vacations (or ANY vacation), cooked at home, didn't go shop for "in" brands at "upscale" stores, or buy the latest phone, boat, or auto, but instead made an interim payment in addition to their monthly mortgage payments, who made coffee and put it in a thermos for the morning commute and passed on the $5 coffee at S.B.'s, who paid back every cent they owed on students loans, and have never in their lives failed to pay their income taxes (unlike a number of IRS and other government employees, and that's certainly NOT a reflection on the many ethical retired government employees who live in our community, just a reference to the well publicized fact that a very high percentage of tax cheats work for the government compared to the population in general), and who never had the latest model of Niki shoes, cellular phones, or the largest home TV set, they are exactly the ones who ( if our government is just going to hand out "free" money for no real reason) should be getting the money. I am not one of them but sure wish I'd had their wisdom and forethought. They are the ones that made it possible for politicians to spend like "drunken sailors" as they say, no accountability at all. Usually the ones who get nothing are the ones who work hard, do without, and contribute the most.
