There are 1000's of couples living in The Villages with a paid-off house, no debt, tons of money in the bank, free paid medical insurance and as long as their gross adjusted yearly income is under $150,000, the couple will receive $2,800 in free US tax dollars. This is on top of the two prior stimulus checks they have received in the past six months.

I honestly believe those folks who need the money should be helped, but this stimulus money was not meant for people who didn't need it and for those people living in The Villages that meet this criteria and don't need the stimulus money are just scamming the rest of us.
I personally would have LOWERED the cut-off AGI to 1/2 that or even $50K for an individual. I would give those under $50K more than $ 14,000. So, I agree that the MOST needy should get the stimulus checks. Unfortunately, the government has to do stimulus in broad strokes. There is no computer program that could perfectly calculate which individuals have the most NEED - yearly AGI is a broad brush that is easy for the government to use. The important thing is that RENTERS were about to be thrown out into the street and the government needed to react QUICKLY. There may be, in the near future, some relief from CV because of the increase in vaccine shots distribution. Hopefully, that brings back jobs. And this stimulus could help the economy to stabilize. It had to be done and I would NOT have voted against it!
