If you read it closely you will have noted that US refineries are operating at 81% percent capacity....is that in itself not a red flag?

The economy is at it's worst in (pick a number) years. Consumption is down to historic lows and the refineries are at 81%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of us when building facilities or installing processes would have a contingency or upside capacity. By our traditional means of determining capacity, this one is and has been in the red. Consumption can only go up...as the population continues to soar.

Another indicator....that we have our heads in the sand (or maybe even some where else!).

The energy crisis is and has been brewing....I guess we are waiting for it to pop first....as usual.

How sad. How stupid. We have lost our ability to remain steadfast in providing for the future as did our predesessors.!!!!!!!!!!!!! The grand kids will pay the price.

BTK
I've said repeatedly that we need a leader to stand at the podium like JFK did when he made a charge to the nation that we would put a man on the moon in 10 years and say, "we will be energy independent with a renewable sourse of energy in 10 yrs"... we have the brainpower and resources.... we have not had the committment or leadership.
