We had a "contemporary" upright Kawai in NJ before we moved for our daughter who took a couple piano lessons back in the late 70's. It was a beautiful instrument and an excellent piece of furniture for holding books and magazines in the seat and piling junk on top of it. NO ONE would take it as a sale or as a giveaway. I called schools, churches everyone you can think of for over a year, paid to advertise it in classifieds and posted it in every store that had a CBB and on every website. What we finally did with it was give it to a family friend 70 miles away who would gladly take it if WE would pay to move it. $400 later they had it. They did make us a nice dinner. LOL Good luck! Maybe it's different down here.
