BUT there is a lot more to American politics than the Presidency. This isn't a 4-year monarchy or dictatorship. At the fed level it is only one prong on the trident, and the real power is being shown daily in the most populace of the trident prongs - the Congress.

The 2010 elections are not that far away. All 425 members of the House are up for re-election, including the two Congressional districts that cut through TV. Sen. Martinez is retiring, and his seat is up-for-grabs.

Let's not forget that the Florida gubernatorial election also occurs in 2010. I venture that not many folk even know who are the State Reps and Senators in tis area, or what they vote on, or how long they've been in office, or anything else about them. The State stuff, especially with the general size of this state, and we're in the middle of it, is so very important to TV and our quality of life.

There's a lot on the table - now's not the time to "go on a political diet."
