If your cat has suddenly starting doing this, it may be a physical problem. Or it may be a reaction to something that has changed in the environment.

Our cat used to do that. After getting him checked out, and nothing was amiss physically, we just dealt with it by putting his litter and food/water and his kitty bed in the laundry room, which happened to be very far away from our bedroom, so we could get some sleep. He did get used to the routine of being put in the room at night. I also wonder about feline senility. Good luck~
