Though not a native Floridian, I think I'm pretty sure what Grouper looks like when cooked, too. Seems that some places try to slip one by on us. Perhaps the manager got tricked by a distributor. If so, shame on him for not knowing better. I've been pleased with the food and service at the Seafood Galley on my few visits, and found the Grouper to be excellent!
I was in Publix a few weeks ago where they had "stone" crab claws on sale. I pointed out to the young man behind the counter that they were not "stone" crab, but they were "jonah" crab, stone crabs poorer cousin. The young man insisted they were stone crab. I didn't buy them. At a visit later in the week I saw that they had corrected the error and tagged the crab as "jonah".
There are some things I know I like/love and can spot them from a hundred yards. If I know it's not my fav, I'll let the business know. If I'm NOT sure, I'm silent. Just don't ever try to slip a Hydrox by THIS Oreo lover!
