choice
Making your own choice is good if your decision does hurt another person. What you say about choice and the government is not reasonable if someone is spreading a virus that can kill me. I wouldn't pat the past administration on the back. If everyone was masking up last February then it never would have gotten as bad as it did. You are mandated to wear a seat belt to save lives. Do you? Then why fight wearing a mask during a pandemic? You said you would wear one if you were sick. With Covid last year people were spreading it and some didn't even know they had it because there was asymptomatic spread. Talk of the Villages let's people provide political beliefs when they are conservative ones. Such as those thanking the past administration for warp speed but doesn't allow those to discuss why we weren't prompted to follow health and safety measures or why there was insufficient testing to identify and stop the spread of the virus back in February 2020. Or why there were critical shortages of medical masks and hospital supplies. If Talk of the Villages removes this post then remove the ones thanking operation Warp Speed. The drug companies were working on finding a vaccine back in November 2019. I know because I have children who are senior researchers for a major drug company. It had nothing to do with the last administration that actually made it more difficult for these companies by commandeering much needed supplies for research. Plane loads of supplies bought by drug companies for research were taken by the federal government in March 2020 slowing vaccine development not helping it.

At this point, after reading all the comments on here and listening to all the desperate folks attempting to convince others that they made the right decision to get vaccinated, I have made a preemptive decision to NOT get the booster shot when offered.
I keep hearing such ideas as "mandatory mask wearing" "mandatory vax passports" "madatory vaccination IDs" etc. I have never heard so many folks demanding that the gov MANDATE their opinions and wants in my life. And the free give-aways is getting out of control.
Never has the population of America been so weak minded and spineless, and so dependent on the gov nanny.
Discussing the merits of vaccination is one thing, but to insist that everyone agree with you or be declared stupid, UN-American, UN-patriotic, ignorant, etc. is proving that you do not have the ability to respect other folks' views.
Against my prudent reasoning, I got my shots months ago. Now, I will resume normal living and I will only wear a mask IF I develope a cold or other possible contagious illness. Until this started, I NEVER owned a mask other than one in my workshop for using paint stripper or sanding. I do not care if you want to get the vaccination or not. It's none of my business what you do and I respect your opinion, whether or not I agree with it. Quit trying to force others to reinforce your decision. I will always resist anything from the gov that attempts to FORCE us to do something against the will of a substantial portion of our population.
I applaud the past administration for Warp Speed and it's attempt to provide a solution, but I also applaud any leaders that are allowing their constituents to make their own decisions, such as has been done here in Florida.
Like one very famous person once said "beware of the words: I am from the gov and I am here to help you." paraphrased.
