I place about 2-3 orders every week from Amazon. Most are sold and shipped by Amazon because I try to avoid third party items. They add tax to some items, but not to others. I don't know why.

Look at your invoices. If they are SOLD AND SHIPPED by Amazon you will be charged tax. If they are sold by 3rd party but SHIPPED BY Amazon you pay no tax unless the SOLD BY company is in Florida. In the latter case you are still BUYING from Amazon but they are shipping the 3rd party sellers items and you get FULL Amazon return and protection coverage as if it was shipped AND sold by Amazon.
