Prudence not paranoia. Before buying I made a weighted, itemized list, how important things were to me about the house and it’s location. Put everything I could think of on my list. Then when I went to look at houses I ranked each house on my list. Result, I am very happy with the house I bought, and the neighbors, and the area.

I will be even more carefully selecting the next home now that I know a lot more about living here. Personally I think if one is not prudent about such a significant purchase, then they are a fool.
