Snakes are sort of like dogs, some are aggressive and some are not. Up north, my school had several pet snakes. The young students were introduced to them so they would have no fear of the harmless kinds of snakes. And to be wary of the other kinds.

However, I do not like snakes of any kind in my home. One of the first things I bought was long thongs to gently pick up any potential snake to take outside.
