First, you contradict yourself in your post. How can something be "illegal" and at the same time be "obeying traffic laws"?

Second, if you think it is "illegal" to pull into the intersection when you have a green light, I'd like you to show me the law that says that. People who make right hand turns pull into the intersection all the time before turning right, so why couldn't people in the left lane also pull into the intersection before making their turn?
