These could be lizard turds! Lizard turds look like rat turds, except that they have a white spot on the end of them.. If so, not much you can do other than move away from Florida...If all black they belong to rats. Many of the local pest control companies can help trap them.. Do you have a bird feeder set up? If so take it DOWN, especially at night time.. I learned this the hard way myself and have had both rat and possum problems.. I love feeding birds, but then all the other critters feast on the bird food at night! Good luck with all that.
