I don't need a flag to respect what it stands for. Just like I don't need a church to pray to god. I just pray, directly. God doesn't need me to be in a particular setting, or talk through a priest on my behalf.

The USA doesn't need people to fly flags in its honor. It will stand, or it will fall, with or without a flag. Not because of a flag.

If you want to fly a flag, then fly one. If it means something to you to do that, then you should absolutely do it. But do it correctly. Otherwise, YOU are the one being disrespectful.
