There are several other threads on this topic. Do a search. In my opinion, it is not a good idea to clean the HVAC ducts because they are made of a thin, flexible material that can easily be damaged by the cleaning equipment. The ducts also have many nooks and crannies which makes it impossible to clean thoroughly, so you will not achieve much benefit. However, it is a good idea to clean the dryer vent, which can be done for less than $100, and it can prevent a fire.
